to set the mood

It doesn't feel like Autumn at all, and in LA, we very rarely get a white Christmas. To celebrate the sun, I suggest Kenny Chesney's All I Want For Christmas Is A Real Good Tan. This disc contains a bunch of classic holiday tunes (Jingle Bells, Pretty Paper, Silent Night, etc.) and a few new Kenny songs, the title track and The Angel at the Top of My Tree.

If Kenny's a little too country for you, give Jimmy Buffett's Christmas Island a try. It's a little less traditional, a lot more Jimmy. The title track, A Sailor's Christmas and Ho Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum are my faves.
